What is HRC Fuse ?

HRC – High Rupturing Capacity Fuse. HRC fuse wire element can carry rated current continiously and it can also carry Short Circuit current as per its trip curve characteristics.

How HRC Fuse work ?

HRC fuse is made up of ceramic bottle with copper end cap at both ends to which fuse wire is welded. Bottle is fully filled with fillling powder which form high electrical resistance if fuse element is melted due to Short circuit, hence quenching the Arc inside the Fuse bottle.

What is Semiconductor fuse ?

Semiconductor fuse are special HRC fuse, which are ment for protection of Semiconductor load like, IGBT, Thyristor Switch, SCR, Rectifiers, UPS, VFDs, Soft Starter etc.

How Semiconductor fuse work ?

Semiconductor fuse element has fast acting characteristics for Protection of Semiconductor loads. For Proper Protection of Semiconductor loads, thermal energy I2t of fuse should be less than I2t of Load. Resistance of Fule element wire of Semiconductor has a characteristics which reduces resistance of element drastically with increase of element temperatuer which is due to over load or short circuit of the load, hence acting very fast.
