Gas laws, PV=nRT, Pressure, Volume, Temperature, Amount

Electrical Panel Assemblies needs good understanding of GAS laws, PV=nRT, which relates Pressure, Volume, Temperature and Amount of GAS inside the ASSEMBLY.

For understanding and designing solutions for conditions like Arc Flash, Heat Losss, Ventilation etc in Electrical Switchboard ASSEMBLY, we need to have basis understanding of GAS laws, as given bellow :

Boyle’s law :

The volume(V) of a given mass of a gas is inversely related to pressure(P) when the temperature(T) is constant.

PV = K, P=Pressure, V=Volume, K=Constant.

Charles’s law :

The volume (V) of a given mass of a gas, at constant pressure (P), is directly proportional to its temperature (T).

V/T = K, V=Volume, T=Temperature, K=Constant.

Gay-Lussac’s law :

The pressure(P) of a given mass of a gas, at constant volume (V), is directly proportional to its temperature (T).

P/T = K, P=Pressure, T=Temperatuer, K=Constant.

Avogadro’s law :

The volume occupied by an ideal gas is directly proportional to the number of molecules of the gas present in the container.

V = n, V=Volume, n=number of Mole

Combined Gas Law :

PV=nRT,

P=Pressure, V=Volume, n=number of Mole, R=Gas Constant, T=Temperature.

DC Utilization Categories IEC 60947

Utilization Categories indicate the type of Load and Duty Cycle of the load basis which selection of Switchgear should be done for the intended application.

How to do Hot Dip Galvanization ?

Galvanization is the process of applying Zinc coating on Steel to prevent Corrosion. In Hot dip Galvanization, Fabrication is submerged in Molten Zinc.
